Akshay Food Park, the first and largest Food Processing Industrial Park in Karnataka. Located at 160 kms from Bangalore city, in Hiriyur of Chitradurga District.
The Food Park is developed under the scheme of Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), which is a notified Food Park of the country. Food Park was promoted and developed by M/s Bangalore Food Technology Services Parks Pvt Ltd on Joint venture Partnership with M/s Food Karnataka Ltd, Special Purpose Vehicle and Nodal Agency, Government of Karnataka during the year 2004. Objective is to establish a global standard, common infrastructure facilities and services for promotion of Food Processing Industries and to develop business environment on par with international standards, for the benefit of Food Value and Food Supply Chain stakeholders.
Akshay Food Park, is the catalyst in integrating the various links of the food supply chain. In other words it is working on the “Farm to Fork Concept”. Akshay Food Park is approved as “Private Agri-produce market yard” under APMC Act. It helps farmers to bring in agri produce to the Food Park for preservation, processing and marketing. It also helps traders and processing industries to add higher value and to market as processed products to end users i.e Consumers.. This ultimately accelerates national economic development.
Akshay Food Park hub, aims at utilizing the true potential of the agriculture, horticulture, medicinal crops, bio-fuels and their value addition business and turn it into a win- win situation for the key stakeholders in the food supply chain. To facilitate strengthening of the existing feeble Food Supply chain, by attracting investment opportunities from stakeholders of the proposed supply chain model in the region.

To provide common infrastructure facilities and services for promotion and development of Food Processing Industries is the main motto of Food Park – This would facilitate sale of value added safe and Nutritious food products.

Akshaya Food Park, is large Food Infrastructure project promoted and developed for the benefit of Food Value Chain and Food Supply Chain Enterprises.
Arrangements made to provide common platform along with notified Private Agriculture market yard facility too, with world class facilities viz., warehouses, cold storages, logistics and e-trading facilities for the benefit of Farmers, FPOs, SHGs, Aggregators, Wholesalers & Retailers as well as exporters.
Infrastructure facilities and services at reasonable costs to the farmers, Food Processing Industries and traders on “Pay-N-Use” basis.

During the year 2010, Akshay Food Park was launched to function as convenient platform for Agri-Food entrepreneurship.
Industrial plots have been allotted to potential entrepreneurs & industrialists for establishment of Food Processing industries for value addition and marketing of processed foods.
11 Food industries are functioning and about 12 industries are under construction and about 20 entrepreneurs are expected shortly to commence.
Existing food industries are directly purchasing agri commodities from farmers for the purpose of processing, value addition and marketing.
Towards performance of its full capacity, best efforts are being made by Akshay Food Park promoters to create adequate common marketing infrastructure facility to build food business eco system in Food Park.
Obtained Private Agriculture Produce Market Licensee under APMC act for the benefit of farmers and traders to supplement sustainable growth.
Proposed for Upgradation of existing marketing Infrastructure facilities and services with additional nine commodity specific warehouse, logistics and e-trading hubs to boost marketing through Food Park, which is under consideration of government of Karnataka.
The Grant-in-Aid and equity support from government is expected to provide to Food Parks based on Impact Assessment Study report of NABARD, shortly.
With 26% Government equity along with the Grant-in-Aid support, the Food Park would become undoubtedly economically manageable platform for users.
